The second of this year’s Junior matches was fished at Ellingham Hall on 2nd September. There was another good turnout with 13 young anglers attending.
Although conditions looked ideal it proved to be challenging for most of the participants with a lot of patience required.
At the weigh in Ethan L put 22lb 9ozs (including a fish of 8lb 10oz) on the scales which was good enough for top spot. In second place with 13lb 6oz was Colby. Joseph, fishing his first ever match, was third weighing in 8lb 1oz.
Aubrey was 4th with 6lb 5oz beating Jack S by just one ounce! Jack was fishing the same peg he drew, and blanked from, last year and left it very late to land his fish.
Special mentions for Jack R who landed a 3lb 12oz bream and Toby H who’s weight of 3lb 13oz was made up of lots of smaller silver fish.
All of the young anglers received prizes. The Club is extremely grateful to all those who donated some great prizes, especially Sam’s family, Will, Jason, Mark M and many Club members.
Thanks to the Club and Committee members who turned up to provide help and support if and when required. It was definitely appreciated.
Thanks also to Avenue Angling and Crossways of Ellingham for their continued support for the club and also the Club’s other ticket outlets for displaying the Match Posters.
A big thank you to all family and friends for getting the young anglers to/from the match.
And well done to all who fished, great to see young anglers on the bank.
