Report on Working Party – 23 October

The winter layby work party took place at the Lay-by Pit and was attended by 9 members (we currently have approx 430 in total!).

Unfortunately, not as good as the May work party.

However, a great deal was achieved and the committee is grateful to the 5 non committee members who turned up.

Pegs around the pit were trimmed up and the rubbish burned. The old pegs from Ellingham also burned and the back fence was reinforced with extra posts which were put deeper in the ground.

There were a few jobs we were unable to do because of turnout but will endeavour to do next May.

As suggested on Saturday the Committee would like to ask all members if you are in the possession of any good useable garden tools that you no longer use, saws, loppers, secateurs etc, and would like to donate to the Club please speak to a committee member.
These would be very useful to maintain our waters.
