Because of the difficult terrain there is no disabled access to this water.

Parking for up to four cars, but please ensure access to the track is kept clear. Please also ensure the access gate is kept fastened.

Access gate

Gear has to be lifted over the stile beyond the gate.

Ford accross the dyke

Wellies needed to wade across the dyke

Footbridge

Narrow footbridge across wide dyke.

Just beyond the gate a steep slope leads down to the first dyke, which has stepping stones but far too slippery to use. Much safer and more practical to wade through so wear wellies.

The land from here is through pastureland and can be wet and boggy – well worth wearing wellies!

From the dyke bear left to walk round the end of a small dyke and head towards the footbridge (handrail is visible). The footbridge is substantial but not wide enough to take a barrow so gear will need to be carried.

From here it’s a walk across pastureland to the river bank.

Good open bank in the winter but gets overgrown during the summer. Access to the water can be difficult due to reeds.

Open bank at the downstream end of the water and limited access at the dyke end.

Reputedly a good head of Bream, good Chub under the trees on the opposite bank and Pike to 20lb.
