River Waveney – Bungay sections – Upper Ellingham

Sorry, because of the difficult terrain there is no disabled access to this water.

Parking for up to six cars, but please ensure access to the track is kept clear. Please also ensure the access gate is kept fastened.

Gate and style access

The gateway includes a style which has been installed to prevent cattle gaining access to the gateway

Stepping stones across the first dyke - wear wellies!

The sleeper bridge across the second dyke. It's narrow and will be slippery!

Just beyond the gate a steep slope leads down to the first dyke, crossed by stepping stones. The land from here is through pastureland and can be wet and boggy - well worth wearing wellies!

The footbridge across the second dyke is a narrow sleeper bridge which will be slippery. Please replace the rope/chain barriers as you cross the bridge. They are in place to prevent livestock from getting onto it.

From here it's a walk across pastureland to the river bank.

Good open bank but access to the water is difficult due to reeds. Open bank at the downstream end of the water and limited access at the dyke end.

Reputedly a good head of Bream, good Chub under the trees on the opposite bank and Pike to 20lb.
