River Waveney – Earsham sections – Old Earsham Buck and Buck Hills

NOTE:This water is leased from the Environment Agency but there is no legal right of access to the Earsham Buck stretch.
The club has had protracted negotiations with EA to try and resolve this issue but, to date, (2019) without success.
Negotiations continue but until further notice please avoid this stretch as you are NOT covered by the club’s insurance.

Earsham Buck - Park on the Old Harleston Road near to the former pub (now called The Buck?).
There is an entry over the gate 20 yards before the house for downstream fishing.

For this upstream section continue 50 yards past the buildings and a muddy cattle gate gives entry across the field.
Please note - This access point is currently closed. Negotiations are in hand to re-establish this access.

Our waters run upstream to the last fence.

Some mighty Chub dwell around the overhanging bushes.
Plumbing is essential. A lot of anglers have been put off by the weed but fishing through small holes in the weed can produce good results.
Roach are a nice size but Bream are not noted in these areas.

Buck Hills - Park on the road by the conifer trees (you will see the club sign on the tree). Walk down a fairly steep slope to the river.

Secluded and quiet; a lovely spot to fish.

This section has a large bend which in the river which can produce some good fish. Light spinning tactics can produce some good perch.
