River Waveney – Earsham sections – Waveney Farm

No map currently available

There is currently no access to this water.
Please see note below.

NOTE:This water is leased from the Environment Agency but there is no legal right of access to the waters.
The club has had protracted negotiations with EA to try and resolve this issue but, to date, (2019) without success.
Negotiations continue but until further notice please avoid these stretches as you are NOT covered by the club’s insurance.

Access along the Old Harleston Road – park at the dead end.
On your left is an entrance to the marshes and a club sign post. Walk in the field for 50 yards and at the telegraph pole turn right and through gates.

Strike out from these alongside the dyke on your left until it turns sharply towards the river.
Turn left with the dyke and the river is running in front of you a further 60 yards away.
Basically you have a 200 yard walk from car to river.

This is essentially an excellent specimen Chub water for the roving angler in which the bottom may be seen and abundant weed growth is present.
There are a few 4′ deep holes and runs holding fish, but it is not a place to sit down for a day’s fishing. Riffles were created here in 2005.
Please note power line warnings upstream.
